Screen Flickering #135

Closed jorgenpt closed 10 years ago

Issue transferred from ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux#1595 @garrett85 posted at 2013-02-12T03:03:47Z:

When starting Counterstrike Source the screen flickers violently. It first starts when the valve logo is being displayed, it stops once the counterstrike screen comes up while it displays 'loading" in the bottom right corner. The flickering returns after CS screen is done loading and the menu appears. Once the game starts the flickering almost completely stops. It also seem to stop or be greatly reduced when the servers box comes up. Below is my system info.

Why has this issue been closed? Has it been fixed?

jorgenpt commented 11 years ago

@garrett85 This issue has not been closed - merely moved from steam-for-linux to Source-1-Games. This issue is still open. :)

Hi, I have exactly the same problem (I'm on Linux Mint 13 too). Has any solution been found?

garrett85 commented 11 years ago

Not that I know of. So for they've done a good job fixing the bugs with Half-Life 1 (beta) so we can only hope they show this game and it's issues the same attention.

joroth commented 11 years ago

I had the same problem. Following changes in the video settings fixed it:

garrett85 commented 11 years ago

Is that in the video setting? I'll give that a try.

jorgenpt commented 11 years ago

@garrett85, are you using f.lux to adjust screen brightness based on time of day? What window manager are you using?

garrett85 commented 11 years ago

I have no idea what f.lux is. I'M using the cinnamon desktop environment on Mint Linux.

Is this still happening to you? If so, can you capture a video of this issue happening? Thanks!
