Eyefinity setups (5760x1080) not being recognized by source 1 games (half-life 2). #1525

I have an eyefinity setup (5760x1080). Usually in windows, i need to merge the three monitors into "one" in order to play games at such resolutions. Only then the games see the 5760x1080 resolution available.

Now, i am not really an intense linux user, im quite a noob there. I got the three monitors working in desktop mode (all seperate) pretty easily with latest amd catalyst drivers on the official website. I run i386 12.04 LTS (the only one with usb ports working for me).

The game does not see the 5760x1080 resolution available. Only 1920x1080. The fullscreen 1,2,3, sucessfully switches from screen to screen.

Note: Neveputt and Nexuiz see the resolution as available and everything is working like a charm.

Note2: The performance of the game seems altered by the number of screens running. When i play half-life 2 on the middle screen with the panoramic screens still on the desktop, the game still show 296 fps (all the freakin' time! nice performance on linux!) but it feels like 20.

Any chance this can be fixed? Even a flag to ignore single monitor resolutions would be great -- I end up not using my Eyefinity setup at all to game on Steam since Steam games are locked to one screen only.

This used to work, so this is technically a regression.
