I was getting more and more frequent segmentation faults--now it segfaults IMMEDIATELY after the game finishes loading, at the menu after the title video and loading screen. It's CONSISTENTLY crashing now. This started happening around early December--before that, everything was pretty solid.

Having the same problem with TF2, before December it works great.
I have only keep my system updated, and suddenly TF2 stop working with this segfault.

While trying to launch Team Fortress 2 on Funtoo x86-64 bit (using the steam-overlay from Gentoo), hl2.sh segfaults at line 67. This worked before I went away for a few days; don't know why it fails now. See e.g. crashdump ''CrashID=bp-56ca2229-7578-4605-856d-b47fa2131215''.
