i've had half life 2 deathmatch for quite a while and everything worked fine and now the servers dont show up for some reason, i live in Israel and my download speed is 6.46 mbps. i tried everything that came to mind and nothing worked, tried re-installing , verifying integrity trying betas ect. help if you feel like you can help, if not don't bother.

Hl2dm server browser is clunky at best, check your region at> (steam icon lower toolbar) right click go to library/steam (upper left)/settings/downloads and set to Israel. Also under steam/settings check your in gamer server browser max pings and try lowering (this is under) "in-game" Once you do "see" the servers make sure you set a few to "favorites" that way next time you can come back, a workaround would be to have a friend that can connect get you the server ip then you could open your client console and enter connect xxx.xxx..xxx.xx (server ip).

Tal70 commented 10 years ago

i did what you said, i changed the region to Israel and the max ping was at 1500 which is automatic but i tried lower ones anyway but still nothing.

I can vouch for this problem too, My friend in israel said when he views the server browser that it just says that it cannot find any game servers. he has tried filters, game type, region, checking/disabling his firewalls, typing "connect IP" in console, he tried changing his region too and it didnt work.

Is there something missing here?

Sounds like a Steam problem (server browsers).I would reload steam i have had to do this many times over the years as it gets corrupted.

1.Delete your main steam shortcut on your desktop(the large one). 2.On the lower toolbar steam icon, right click select exit (close steam). 3.Go to C:\Program Files\Steam and delete all files BUT the two below steamapps and Steam.exe steamapps is where your games are and steam.exe starts steam. 4.Once all files are deleted also look in the C:\Program Files\Common Files (this is not the same as the steam "common files") delete anything named "steam" in there too.I have seen steam mix the two up. 5.After all files are deleted restart your machine. 6.Go back to the two files you have left and right click on Steam.exe and make a desktop shortcut,. click on the new desktop shortcut and rebuild steam, and adjust your settings.

i think its a problem in the game itself, no other games does that for me and i own many multiplayer games like dota 2 and left 4 dead 2 . i tried it but it was a waste of time

lower toolbar steam icon right click>servers and set game half-life 2 deathmatch do you see any now?

Tal70 commented 10 years ago

yep i do, and when i looked at the game again the message changed to "There are no internet games listed on the master server that pass your filter settings" even though i have no filter settings active

1157 commented 10 years ago

tick the "has users playing" then refresh, if you do see any servers you should be able to get the server ip and use connect xxx.xxxx.xxx.xx to connect directly to the server and bypass the server browser.

Jds1234 commented 10 years ago

yes, this happened yesterday, "no internet games" was shown, except the favourite servers tab WAS working/showing servers, but after a while, later in the day, they all decided to re-appear...what gives VALVE?? stop updating dota 2 & tf2,and fix this game plz!! its always dota 2 & tf2...hl2dm is never looked at...
