Closed robin-koch closed 9 years ago

Hello,

When I start CounterStrike Source (or another Source game like Garry's Mod) I get an segmentation fault right after the Loading screen appears and it crashes back to desktop. The SegFault is triggered by engine.so

Fixed by moving the games library fro my XFS Home-Partition to my Ext4 System-Partition

ZyanKLee commented 9 years ago

Follow these directions to fix steam on big xfs mounts: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games/issues/1685

robin-koch commented 9 years ago

yes, that's the same problem as mine, but unfortunately there is no fix in it. Game developers have to compile there games with 64bit inode support or as native 64Bit applications.

ZyanKLee commented 9 years ago

Right, I misinterpreted those posts. I had to switch to ext4 as well. That miraculously fixed a whole lot of problems with all kinds of games from steam. :-D Btw: btrfs works very good, as well.
