L4D2 yellow screen on mac #1766

I just bought a 4-pack of left 4 dead 2 (thank you steam summer sales) But now, my game only half works. I will often get a yellow screen that only lets the UI show up. I havent even gotten past the first part of the game, and its just too bad. I have tried adjusting all video settings, but not every single possible combination. No changes have had any effect on the yellow screen screenshot taken just at the beginning of the first level of the first campaign. screen shot 2014-06-27 at 13 09 44 I am using a mid 2013 macbook air 13-inch 1.3 ghz intel core i5. 4gb 1600 mhz ddr3 ram intel draphics hd 5000 OSx 10.9.3 13 inch 1400X900 display 128 gb ssd screenshot taken with the games settings normal 4:3 800x600 no antialiasing bilinear filtering enabled(triple buffered) wait for vertical sync low shader detail high effect detail high model-texture detail multicore rendering enabled.

Same problem here with the same MBP with a 13" late-2013 MBP (128 GB model)

+1 with a 15-inch, Early 2011 MBP. I also see issues with the screen flashing as well.

L4D2 is installed on a case sensitive HFS+ filesystem, whereas Steam is installed on a case insensitive HFS+ filesystem (not sure if that matters, but you never know...)

MBP early 2015 show this artifacts, I have the same version (they have consecutive serials) and on the other one it works like a charm... so WTF! (And yes, they have same everything)
