[TF2] Mp3 Audio never plays #2547

Any music file within TF2 that ends in .mp3 results in Error. But if its in a .Wav format, it works, such as weapons fire, but all music, announcer, voice lines, never work anymore, been an issue for about 3 weeks now, ive searched everywhere for a solution, usually "Verify game files, Re-install, delete sound.cache" none of the above have worked for me.

ok so i asked other people who reported the same issue i'm having, and the common denomintator seems to be realtek audio drivers, there must be something that TF2 is doing wrong cause GMod can mount and read the files just fine and play the sounds. my guess is that an update to realtek audio drivers caused the way that TF2 calls MP3 files to malfunction

now solutions,

replace all of TF2's MP3 files with .WAV files, the bad is that it may take a lot of work

handle MP3 files using code from another game like CS:GO or CS:S
