I have inspected the map and the only input/activation that door gets to close is only when player or a physics object touches the laser. Since that area has some erratic battles combine vs citizens, my guess is that either an ammo box or a combine ball could get in that area thus activating a laser. A previous save-load should typically fix it if a player gets stuck.
The other alternative is to reconfigure the lasers to ignore certain objects.
