(Non authoritative) I'm not sure this is a real issue. A different animation could have been intentionally picked to reduce the overall player model width so that it fits better in those two use cases.

Potentially and if so - I still don't really like the way it was handled as no other class requires it to that extent, which tells me the thirdperson animation was awkward to begin with. I understand that's an opinionated view and I may be the only one who has that view. I'll update the post and change it to a feature request as that seems more fitting.
When viewing any all/multi-class melee item for the Sniper, the animation shown is different when viewed in the Loadout menu or in-game when held by the Sniper. The alternative animation also displays on the HUD when the 3D player model HUD setting is enabled. Here's an example:
Loadout Menu
In-Game / Thirdperson View (Front & Back)
Proposed Idea
Change the Sniper's all/multi-class melee Loadout Menu animation to that of the thirdperson Sniper all/multi-class melee animation so that they're consistent with each other, or change the thirdperson Sniper all/multi-class melee animation to that of the Loadout Menu screen all/multi-class animation.
Side Note
I understand that there may have been an intentional design choice for these differing animations, but I feel it's an inconsistent visual when no other class as far as I'm aware has this going on.
