Let's be real, with 50% of steam users having 16gb, about 24% having 8, and only about 7% having 4gb I don't see any harm in changing this.
For users who only play in casual servers this won't change anything for them, but for community servers hosting custom maps this would open a new world of creation for responsible creators so they won't have to deal with the headache of hunting down this bug in their maps often having to reduce their lighting quality just to get the map to work. (might be talking from experience :c)
This command defaults to 1 and it appears to limit how much memory can be assigned to lightmaps?
Gmod has changed this to 0 back in 2018, it took them 2 years to change it but hey they did!
