I'm a German player and the blood splatters on the marines are blue in the Linux version of Half-Life Source (anything else seems uncut to me). When I change to the Windows version via Proton it's red. I've contacted the support and they told me I have no more low violence flag set. I'm assuming it checks the language settings for German language somewhere or something like that? Changing the language in Steam and even my system didn't help either. It would be great if the Linux client would behave the same as the Windows version.
Anyway, it's annoying and there is no more legal reason to do this kinda stuff anymore (the game was removed from the list of bad bad games a long time ago).
OS: Ubuntu 22.04 64 bit
Desktop: MATE
I just wanted to file a bug report about this here. My solution for now is to use Proton (and the hls fixed mod).
Hello @darealshinji, please copy your system information from Steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report.
