For me the game runs pretty fast, but sometimes the screen turns yellow like in the screenshot above. I'm using a Radeon HD 6950 and had the issue with both the 13.1 and 13.4 AMD Catalyst drivers.

By the way, I didn't have that problem in other games, including Portal and TF2 (but I haven't played TF2 very much).
Hi everyone,
i got the same problem after i turned up my graphic settings. first i didn't use msaa
I use the amd catalyst driver 13.4 and had no problem playing this game while not using high anisotropic filter settings and msaa.
Than i only changed the settings msaa and the filter option and here it is.
I hope it helps finding this issue.
It runs with the lowest of the lowest graphic settings but there are still some glitches. Also for me no problem with TF2 and Portal. BTW, L4D2 runs fast and good with the same machine in windows.
yeah, with MSAA deactivated the bug doesn't happen.
The Steam update that went out around 1:30pm PST today (May 8th, 2013) should have resolved the yellow screen issue. Please confirm that it is working correctly for you now.
Nope, the screen still turns yellow from time to time. (I'm not 100% sure I got the update because I don't remember L4D2 being updated, but it's quite probable that it has been done in the background when I wasn't looking at Steam. Would probably be helpful if Properties->Updates->View ... update history actually showed the update history and not news related to the game or, in this case, nothing at all)
Yeah, same for me, but the bug seems fewer? Sometimes it is even white. MSAA 2x was used.
Now, after an L4D2 update (maybe the one PeterLValve mentioned?) it seems to be fixed, thanks!
@dosas Has the yellow issue gone away for you too, or still happen on occasion? Also, I was unable to reproduce the white issue, which appears to be a different artifact (although I'm using a slightly different system configuration). Have you noticed if there is any pattern to when it happens? ie, characters going behind walls, taking damage, explosions, etc. Thanks for your help!
Yes, the bug is gone after the update. But the performance with recommended settings is still very bad.
I've had this problem for awhile. It hasn't gone away with the update. Funny that it happens now cause i pre-purchased L4D 2 and never had any glithces or issues.. now this :)
@Dawda this issue should be resolved. If you’re seeing a similar problem, you need to verify your game cache, check you’re on the right game id - it should show as ‘Left 4 Dead 2 (Beta)’ - and then if it is still a problem, attach your system information here. It may be a new issue and if so i’ll move it.
Closing as this appears to have been fixed.
@kisak-valve I'm having this problem with my copy of LFD2. Running it on a 2015-era Macbook Air. 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB graphics.
Same yellow screen bug as described above—totally yellow screen that tends to happen when looking in dark areas of the game. Tried all the different video settings and tricks, nothing worked.
Think you could help me out? Was psyched to play this game. Thanks
Edit: Also a problem where it occasionally crashed when you press esc in-game. Edit 2: Also storing the file on an external SSD, don't know if that matters at all.
Hello @benbk97, please open a new issue report so that your issue can be tracked properly.
As mentioned in the title game play is extremely slow and the screen turns yellow from time to time. I'm sorry but I cannot figure out how to add labels.
