Have the same happening since the summer updates.

Worth a try to see if this persists on default HUD, as sometimes custom HUDs can mess things up from one update to another.

I can confirm that this issue also occurs when using the default HUD. I also noticed that sometimes the medals would be displayed even if no player is displayed.

Possible that it's related to VSH gamemode, where medals on the scoreboard look like this Edit: nvm this happens without joining VSH 1

The cause of the issue, is a problem when disconnecting from a server and then joining a new one. I guess the medals and players are not getting properly removed from the scoreboard when switching servers.

Also been having the same issue. Have you found a workaround other than scrolling up and down to see the medals for a second? @NULLYUKI

I have no workaround neither did I do any scrolling up and down. I Don't know where you got that information from.

If you scroll up and down in the scoreboard quickly you can see the medals show for a second

Well in my case I did not do any scrolling up and down. I just joined a server, disconnected and then joined a new server again until I saw the issue in the scoreboard, then I opened up the scoreboard and took a screenshot from it.

So this issue will also occur without the user scrolling up and down.

@kisak-valve Add Need Retest to this issue

NULLYUKI commented 5 months ago

After joining a server and then disconnecting to join another server, I can confirm that this issue has been fixed and the medals were always correctly displayed in the scoreboard. 20240422182242_1 Adding a screenshot with DirectX 9 (-dxlevel 90) being used. Confirming that this issue has been fixed. 20240422214429_1

By the way, this issue is still occurring, but now it's less common. For it to happen again, the game must lose connection with the coordinator and then reconnect. When joining a casual mode match, some badges will not show up.

Another way would be to join a match in casual mode, then leave and, in the console, type "map cp_dustbowl" (it can be any map). Then queue for a match and join it, and the badges will not show up 20240515221337_1
