[TF2] [Feature Request] Enable queueing for Halloween maps on Casual Mode during Full Moons #5308

Hello. Currently in TF2, we have three types of seasonal updates. We have Summer, Halloween and Winter / Christmas events. This year, we got the first Summer Event, in which, all the maps were added to the Casual matchmaking map selector.

For Winter maps, some maps get added to the rotation, while others don't (I think most reskin variants of existing maps are the ones that get excluded). However, for Halloween maps, there hasn't been any maps that got added into the rotation.

This, however, is understandable, as Halloween maps are more gimmicky than the other events. Things like bosses, spells, minigames, and so on.

So, what I did think about, is to add the ability to queue to these maps whenever a Full Moon is going on. For those unaware, you can wear Halloween-restricted items not only during Halloween, but also on Full Moons on the entire year.

Considering that the game has a system for Full Moon restriction for cosmetic items, action items (the Trick or Treat canteen), Halloween Spells, and I think the two Strange Parts related to Halloween events also count (but I'm not entirely sure. If not, they should probably track as well on Full Moons), then I think that implementing the same system to be applied on maps could also work. Especially because the maps themselves automatically get added to the Casual Mode list (without a patch) on October 1st.

Because, at the moment, these maps stay in the game files without any use for a year (outside community servers), only being possible to queue for them during the next Halloween event. Since you can wear certain items during Full Moons (alongside the full span of Scream Fortress), I think that letting players to queue up for these unique and gimmicky maps during Full Moons would also be a great idea.

This wouldn't make these gimmicky maps permanent on the map selector, but would still be somewhat more common than having to wait an entire full year to be able to play Crasher again on Casual, for instance.

I approve of this, would be nice to play Halloween maps for a short time outside of scream fortress, also it's quite rare to find community servers hosting Halloween maps sadly.

Thank you. I personally would prefer if these maps would be in the Casual Mode's list forever (same goes for the Smissmas maps too), since maps seem to be the only gameplay-centric additions we get into the game, and it has been a while since the last unique weapon has been made to the game.

However, some people don't like the idea of Halloween maps being forever on the Casual Mode as they are overly gimmicky. They do have a point, and I agree with them being gimmicky, so I think adding them back to Casual during Full Moons would be a good balance around that. They won't be forever, but, people who enjoy them wouldn't have to wait an entire year to play them once again.

I personally love Crasher, and it's annoying having to wait an entire year to play it again. There doesn't seem to be any community servers that host Crasher alone, either.
