My tf2 is not opening #5624

after this update, my tf2 is not opening anymore. I tried to reboot my pc and still not opening

If you know how to get crash logs from tf2, could you provide them? If you don't that's fine, just write down all the details about your pc and tf2 installation, and the steps you would need to take to replicate the crash.

Also, before anything, try verifying the game files, completely disabling any antivirus that isn't windows defender, and removing anything custom from tf2 for good measure.

hello, im not neither of them but ive been having the same problem, seems like steam just wont execute the .exe (im also on windows 10), and ive tried everything you listed above. oddly though, it loads fine if i simply open the file from the game directory, but trying to join any servers results in a "insecure mode" error if this is in behalf of the game i really wish it could be fixed soon

I have the same problem, the game does not open even if I delete the files that I had in custom, does this have something to do with what they fixed or is it because of the system? I use Windows 11 at 64 bits

yep! that did it thank you! i had some stuff on launch options due to cfg.tf and just clearing it all fixed it

UPDATE: i found the solution: remove and move to any folder idk download your custom hud (i have toonhud) remove the custom hud from the tf folder and run with normal stock hud. i recomend too put dxlevel 92 (stock dxlevel because i have it on dx81). greetings

i verified the integrity of game files on steam and i removed some launch options and it opened again

Disable your Anti-Virus (Except Windows' Default AV), then verify your files again. It is likely being falsely flagged as a virus, preventing it from installing properly.
