Not to mention January outage that lasted way longer than it should, leaving everyone without any items, ingame or inventory wise:

Is this about actual current issues with the item server or just issues with the item server in general? Because I'm not sure the latter is very useful without more details
I think the item servers are overloaded due to players mass playing tf2 after the cool new update.

This issue started few months ago, and it keeps on getting worse and worse, it makes anything that works for trading or load anything tf2 item related fail 1 in 3 times regularly, without reaching over any API or IP call limits, server just refuses even when it shouldn't, if its your first call of the day or 31st it has large chances to fail or even in normal usage of the client. Also These outages where server refuses connections to everyone for long times happen more and more frequently, Valve is the only one that could know whats happening on their end, so please investigate.
Also when using the steam client itself, without any automation, manually trying to check friends or your own inventory would fail. And same thing when searching or looking at listings on steam community market making them unusable for most of the time.
I never received anywhere where i looked, or tried to make a call via API, anything about limit exceeded, its always "EYldRefreshAppIfNecessary failed with EResult 55"
No information is provided, but when these outages are detected, like it is right now, it would 90% of the time fail to load even going to community market of TF2, but works perfectly for CSGO
I did not make any calls, i just for the sake of this test, opened up steam and tried to load, someones inventory, send a trade, look something up on the market... and it seems like this issue is TF2 specific, where its unavailable for 5-8 hours.... If i try from the webapp client, not from the client itself, so i can inspect element, only error that appears is
I think the item servers are overloaded due to players mass playing tf2 after the cool new update.
If anything, amount of players fell down

For what it's worth, backpack.tf hasn't not given an error to me in probably 5+ years now, despite everything else being completely fine. I don't believe that's an issue on Steam's side.

Try loading anyone inventory now, its impossible last 8 hours. it co responds to this reports graph
The backpack itself cannot load any new inventories, nor can anyone from the API, nor with the client itself. These outages become worse and worse every day. Sometimes 5 hours, sometimes 6, sometimes 2, now its 8 hours...
lets try few profiles from listings: (it only loads snapshots)

You are right, good to document that aswell, just backs up my claims from experience that there is high unreliability of calls even within the allowed limits, first or 31st request, it might fail one in 3 times, but by this data its more like to fail ones in 2 requests... crazy, how is something like this acceptable for company size of Valve???
Would anyone optimize or scale the system to meet the demand? These half day outages are crazy
Whether or not trying to load inventory through client, ingame or via API. error failed with EResult 55 would appear. Last 5 days or so, this error persists with me and everyone i know for 6-8 hours a day. It corelates with charts that could be found here: https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/tf2 Also any services like backpack.tf or anything community built that relies on steam, fails to load anything tf2 related when this issue is randomly occouring. Valve please fix.
