[HL2, Portal] GamepadUI pause menu phantom button press #6322

This bug is reproducible 100% of the time while playing the native Linux build of Half Life 2 (or Episodes One/Two) or Portal 1 on the Steam Deck OLED with the default Steam Input control setup.

  1. Pause any of the aforementioned games with the menu/start button (to the left of the Y button)
  2. Select "Resume Game" with the A button
  3. Pause the game again with the menu/start button
  4. The game will automatically click onto Resume Game without the user pressing anything.

Note: it only happens when you select Resume Game with the A button. If you instead just press menu/start to close the pause menu, it will not cause the bug.

This bug is still present after the 20th Anniversary update.
