[CS:S] [Linux] The game cannot play the startup music on the Linux system #6346

Description

There is also this issue with GoldSrc-based Counter-Strike. I have placed the startup music in the media folder, but after starting the game, there is no music. This problem does not exist on Windows. In-game sound effects can play normally, but the game music cannot. This issue may also exist on the Steam Deck running SteamOS.

System

Kernel: Linux 6.10.9-200.fc40.x86_64 OS: Fedora Linux 40 (KDE Plasma) x86_64 Shell: bash 5.2.26 Pipewire: pipewire-1.0.7-2.fc40.i686 PulseAudio: not installed

Hello @notavaliablename, this is most likely libMiles having a hard time with selinux, similar to #2734.

You probably need to have PulseAudio libraries installed, even if using PipeWire. See https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-runtime/blob/master/doc/steamlinuxruntime-known-issues.md#audio.
