All modifications that use Half-Life 2, ep1 or ep2 as a base to run, fail to launch. An error message is displayed and then crashes to desktop.

The mod is:

located in "steam/steamapps/sourcemods/"
has no custom bin files, content is loaded via gameinfo.txt

I suspect this happens because the filesystem is looking for the GCF's in the old location, instead of the VPK's in common/half-life2 ?

The gameinfo.txt needs to be changed because of SteamPipe. You could try using one of the HL2 mods' gameinfo.txt that are in the thread and then replacing the game, title, etc variables.

dupe of #660 , yup gameinfo needs changing plus a steam client bug fix.
