[HL2/EP1/EP2/Source] Missing language. #811

In directory /Half Life 2/{hl2/episodic/ep2}/resource/ exist file like

closecaption_{french,japanese,polish,thai,chinese,turkisj,koreana}.{.dat,.txt}

But in game is on only English avaiable, and other laguages who you can change at game language option.

To get game in this languages above, you must change for exaple:

_japanese.txt _.japanese.dat

to _english.txt _english.dat

And you can play in Japnese subs...

When Valve add more languages for this game? (and other source games)

Source games language depends on your Steam language. Is your Steam language the same you expecting to see in game?

No.

System language: Polish Steam language: Polish Source games language: English Polish language version of Source games: after rename _polish to _english

I'm experiencing this problem in HL2, but it's ALMOST allright in EP1. In EP1, captions of dialogs betweeen Gordon and other characters are properly appearing on screen, but captions of transmission sequences (eli and kleiner's transmission, judith's transmission and kleiner's speech on breencast) however are not.

Haven't tried EP2.

Its problem of Source Engine. This problem is in all source games Half Life 2 Series (all EPs, Lost Coast, Deathmath) Counter Strike Source Day of Defeat Source Left4Dead 2 Beta On this games as you have selected "English" at "language" option, you have English, not Polish (its like it skipping Steam language)

Games like: Portal 1 Team Fortress 2 Are at polish, but this games have "Polish" option at languages.

This is a dupe of #599 , the in-game text languages should follow your Steam language, and will soon.
