Touch Screen Calibration #1172

Open DrLegitamate opened 9 months ago

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

When using the touch screen in desktop mode on steam deck. The cursor appears much lower than where my finger touches making it impossible to use the top of the screen via touch but when i look for a way to re-calibrate the screen there does not appear to be an obvious way to do so.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Touch the screen
  2. Observe cursor location

Also had this issue. Was messing around with a touchscreen piano tool on my OLED and the calibration was so far off I'd say it was unusable.

I tried playing some games that had small buttons to click/touch. It takes a lot of finicky adjustments on where to tap to hit the buttons. Then I tried to use the Desktop and that's even worse.

+1 to this.

Here on a Deck LCD, the touches also register too low on the screen as described in the OP by about half a centimeter or so. Seriously makes the on-screen keyboard hard to use.

Some sort of calibration tool, even if it's just a binary you have to run from the terminal like thumbstick/trigger_cal would be greatly appreciated.

Adding my support for this too, googled how to do it and apparently it's not possible. My touchscreen is misaligned by approximately a whole finger width, so I routinely select the next menu item down from where I intend to.
