Have you checked for updates in Settings > System?: Yes
Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
Changing the Steam Decks brightness within "Options > Quick Settings > Brightness" and "Menu > Settings > Display > Brightness", doesn't keep the brightness setting the user set when turning on the Steam Deck, from either shutdown and or restart.
The only way to get your brightness to what you set is it go back and move the brightness slider slightly, either forward and back or back and forward.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
Set the brightness in either "Options > Quick Settings > Brightness" or "Menu > Settings > Display > Brightness"
Either "Shutdown" or "Restart" the Steam Deck
Turn on the Steam Deck if you shutdown or wait if you restarted. The screen brightness will be set to max when it boots.
To get the brightness back down to what the user set go back and move the brightness slider slightly, either forward and back or back and forward.
