Wake from Sleep Breaks Focus for All Apps/Games, Does Not Play Movie If 'Use as Wake Movie' Is Enabled #1222

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Under Settings > Customization, if the option "Use as Wake Movie" is enabled with only the Steam Deck Default Startup movie available, waking from sleep will break gamemode's ability to focus on any apps or games, preventing them from being displayed.

The app/game will start as normal, but gamemode will not be able to focus on it until either Steam restarts or the system restarts.

Less consequentially, it fails to play the movie upon wake.

Workaround: Disable "Use as Wake Movie"

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Enable "Use as Wake Movie" under Settings > Customization
  2. Sleep the Steam Deck
  3. Wake the Steam Deck
  4. Launch any app or game

I have experienced this too and it looks like it has been an issue since March of this year. It only happens when "Startup - Steam Deck Default" is selected AND "Use as Wake Movie" is enabled, even when there are more custom videos downloaded. It does not happen when custom video from Points Shop is selected.

Selecting a custom video OR disabling "Use as Wake Movie" immediately fixes it, even when the game has already been started.
