Display Problem with AV receiver

I'm using a nvidia GeForce GTX 750 TI and the system is connected to an Onkyo TX-NR708 AV receiver. The resolution is set to 1920x1080. Since the last OS update I've been having a display problem. The display is offset roughly 30 pixels or so off the left side of the screen. This leaves a black bar along the right side of the screen. If I connect the steam machine directly to the TV the issue goes away. For reference, this av receiver does hdmi passthrough to get the audio, so the hdmi physical connection goes computer -> av receiver -> tv. Onkyo receivers can also expose quirks in the nvidia driver as it has to guess at some things if the receiver is off when the computer starts the X session.

In my case, when the linux box starts X and the Onkyo AV receiver is off, the nvidia driver has to guess which interlaced field comes first (1080i).

I'm having the same problem with my Onkyo TX-NR515. Never had the problem with ubuntu on the same computer / video card / av receiver.
