Right eye appears black in stereo screenshots taken with SteamVR #155

Screenshots taken from within SteamVR will appear with the right eye blacked out. A triangle cut out for the nose will also appear in some cases.

Games with issue include, The Lab, SkyrimVR, The Gallery: Episode 2, Fallout 4 VR, Eye in the Sky and Gorn.

We were unable to directly reproduce this issue in our testing environment. We haven't received many tickets regarding this issue but we are reporting it in case the problem is system specific.

Repro Steps: Launch SteamVR Launch a VR compatible title While in game, take a screenshot Notice the right eye will be blacked out

Repro Rate: 0/5

Expected Result: A stereo screenshot should show video information from each eye Actual Result: Taking a screenshot in game will result with right eye blacked out

Observed Configs: GTX 1080 Windows 10 Vive headset

Build: SteamVR Beta version: 1.4.2 (1555714041)

We took screenshots via 2 methods: (1) via Headset Mirror window and (2) using the Trigger+System button on the motion controller - however, we were not able to reproduce the issue either.

Observed config: Observed on CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600X, Intel i7-8700K Observed on GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080, Nvida GTX 1080 Ti Observed on HMD: HTC Vive, HTC Vive Pro

Build: SteamVR Beta Build 1.4.2

Hello @BPHardware, per "Fix cases where the right eye view of stereo screenshots had dark/black regions because the capture did not properly ignore the alpha channel coming from the game. This bug did not affect the left eye (which is used for the monocular screenshot most people see on Steam)." in the SteamVR 1.8.5 beta update, please retest this issue.
