SteamVR Home: Navigating to the 'Avatar' section of the Home MEnu will cause the Avatar preview to be present in all menus. #201

Open KWS-Compat opened 5 years ago

KWS-Compat commented 5 years ago

In the SteamVR Home Menu, if the user navigates to the 'Avatar' section from the main menu, a preview will appear of the user's avatar. After this point, however, the avatar preview will remain present whenever the menu is open, regardless of which specific menu the user navigates to (See attached video 'SteamVR_AvatarViewRemains').

In the user selects the 'Home' button in the SteamVR Overlay, the view will be reset and the Avatar Preview will no longer appear until the user navigates to the Avatar menu once again (See attached video 'SteamVR_AvatarVierwRemains_2'). However, navigating through environments using the SteamVR Home menus will not cause the preview to reset.

Repro Steps:

  1. Launch SteamVR.
  2. Open the SteamVR Home Menu.
  3. Navigate to the 'Avatar' menu. Observe that an avatar preview appears.
  4. Navigate away from the 'Avatar' menu to any other menu section. Observe the avatar preview remains regardless of where the user navigates.
  5. Open the SteamVR Overlay.
  6. Select the 'home' button in the SteamVR Overlay.
  7. Once the environment fully loads, open the SteamVR Home Menu. Observe the avatar preview is no longer present.

Repro Rate: 5/5

Expected Result: Avatar Preview disappears when the user navigates away from the 'Avatar' menu. Actual Result: Avatar preview persists regardless of the menu navigation, until the user re-loads the environment using the SteamVR Overlay.

Observed Configurations: Observed on CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Observed on GPU: AMD Radeon R9 Fury Observed on HMD: Oculus Rift

Builds: SteamVR Live Build: 1.6.10 SteamVR Beta Build: 1.6.10
