Oculus Rift: If a title is available through Oculus, launching it through the Steam Library may fail to launch the SteamVR Client. #53

Oculus Rift: In several instances where a title is available on both the Oculus store and SteamVR, if the user is using an Oculus Rift HMD, the title will automatically favour the Oculus version. Attempting the launch the title from the Steam Library will result in the title launching directly through Oculus and failing to launch the SteamVR Client. Additionally, this will prevent the user from opening the Steam Overlay from within the title.

Repro Steps:

  1. Launch the Steam Library.
  2. Select an affected title (See Notes below for a list of currently known affected titles).
  3. Attempt to launch the title. Observe that the title launches, but SteamVR Home fails to launch.
  4. In the HMD, attempt to launch the Steam Overlay. Observe that the Stam Overlay fails to launch.

Expected Results: Launching a title through the Steam Library will always launch the title through SteamVR Actual Result: Several titles automatically favour Oculus and fail to launch the SteamVR Client or use SteamVR Features.

Repro Rate: 5/5 on affected titles
