SteamVR: Applying a controller skin on a WMR controller will not take effect in either SteamVR Home and SteamVR Compositor. #94

When the user attempts to apply a skin onto the WMR controller, the change does not occur and the controller skin remains default.

steamvr - customizing wmr controllers skin remains default

Repro Steps:

  1. Launch SteamVR Home.
  2. Open SteamVR Overlay and navigating to Settings.
  3. Select Customize.
  4. Select Controller.
  5. Select "Find More Skins".
  6. Download and apply any skin. Observe that the controllers retain the default skin.

Note:

Repro Rate: 10/10

Expected Result: The WMR Controller's skin changes as the user's selection.

Actual Result: Applying different skins does not affect the controller's appearance and thus remains default.

Config Details: The issue occurs on all configs.

Affected HMDs: Windows Mixed Reality

SteamVR Beta Build: 1.2.6

Issue is still occurring as of SteamVR Version 1.7.15 and SteamVR for Windows Mixed Reality Version 1.0.596.
