[LINUX] VGUI windows not using marlet.ttf #1009

Ingame windows i.e. console, server browser etc. don't use marlett.ttf to draw interface elements (close button, grabber, scroll arrows). zrzut ekranu z 2016-06-06 19-15-45

I'm using a fresh Ubuntu 16.04.

Symptoms:

csgo_linux64 doesn't load marlett.ttf (or any other fonts) from it's local platform folder. Game instead checks only these paths:

/usr/share/fonts/ ~/.fonts/

I've checked it via sudo fatrace.
after placing marlett.ttf from csgo's fonts to my system fonts the game doesn't display any glyphs (not even the bad ones)

sudo ln -s ~/.steam/steamapps/common/Counter-Strike\ Global\ Offensive/platform/vgui/fonts/marlett.ttf /usr/share/fonts/truetype/msttcorefonts/marlett.ttf

__ CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10GHz GPU: GeForce GTX 750 RAM: 6GiB Nvidia driver: 361.42 (ubuntu 16.04 repo) OS: Ubuntu 16.04

CS 1.6 has a simular issue as well (https://github.com/ValveSoftware/halflife/issues/214). This is a duplicate of #612, but it is written significantly clearer than #612.

how are your frame-rates? i updated to a 64 bit over the w.e. get random drops like everyone but just happy to be getting closer.

@hadlee10 A bit improved and a lot more stable now compared to 32bit client. Average on comp match on cache between 240-150 when defending B against T's rush with smokes, molotovs etc. Highest peak on d2 ~300fps, lowest peak on de_nuke ~90fps. All these using maxed out settings without MSAA, with FXAA on 1920x1080.

I do get a lot more fps (~15-30% boost) when switching video settings to lowest, i just play using highest today.

Only problem i had performancewise was tracked here https://github.com/ValveSoftware/csgo-osx-linux/issues/710 but we had a working workaround and valve fixed it withing hours so gj valve!

i might as well add here. my inventory either shows up with half all scrambled, or it shows the newest item duplicated through out. like if i got a knife it shows my whole inventory is the same knife. which looks cool but cant be right.

@hadlee10, that issue is being tracked at #737 and is unrelated to this issue report.

This problem is fixed for me as of the 27/07 2016 Update.

[MAC/LINUX] – Fixed bug where demoui, console, and other controls wouldn’t show an ‘X’ to close the window.
