Seems fixed. Thank you so much.
Still Not Fixed.
Now ingame microphone does not work.
How do i fix this? Did they have an update?
NOT FIXED !
Devs, just fix your game and release an update ... This is rly stupid
My CSGO just update and the sounds are not fixed.
How can you even release new patch with this ,,competitive-game-braking" bug, I dont understand ... There is no way anyone tested it on Linux / OSX .. NO WAY! Because you would notice....
Only rollback the patch yesterday will fix it! Then you have time over eastern to think about your changing. Nobody need chicken with rabbit ears!
Sound is still broken. Just downloaded the update as well.
If you cant rollback then your develop environment ist brocken too.
@igraltist Rolling back a patch isn't always the best solution, and unless you have insight as to how their development cycle works it's irresponsible to assume that can/should do it.
They pushed out a patch, they see the reports of people still not having it fixed and will investigate. Their turnaround time on this is astounding for a private company and the fact they allow public issue tracking in the first place is unprecedented.
Relax, play some TF2 instead, give them a few hours to track things down.
TF2? Bad idea. That Game is just like the Bootleg version of Overwatch but Play som Paladins. Exactly like Overwatch but Different Features.
@Qix- You dont have to excuse the brocken development environment. With this path patch patch not working behavior its was proved.
Rolling back a patch is the best solution for everybody i believe.
I can confirm that the issue is NOT fixed. When I say not fixed, I mean there are no changes to the audio response of the game since, as all stuttering, echoing, delays, time dilations, etc., are as present as ever since the debacle of a patch from yesterday.
How can we check if that fix has been applied (downloaded) to our local version? I actually can't find the current version number as to compare against if we would know the updated one.
I can confirm that the the issue is not completely fixed. I used snd_mixahead=0.05, and the sound was still stuttering. After changing to 0.1 it was WAY BETTER, playable, but not completely fixed.
in console: version Protocol version 13574 [470/470] Exe version 1.35.7.4 (csgo) Exe build: 12:55:40 Apr 12 2017 (6731) (730)
OS Sierra. Sound still broken. As said above, with snd_mixahead=0.1 is playable. My fps had a massive drop as well... =T
I deleted all config folders and now the sound is BETTER but not fixed. There is still that stutter and stickiness but at least people's microphones aren't glitching. I will try reinstalling the game.
Please fix this annoying issue, Valve.
Extra: the sound glitches create sudden frame freezing.
I've downloaded the thing, now in all menus (main, buy, escape) when i move the cursor my frames drop SIGNIFICANTLY - from 140 to 20. Sound is also the same choppy overlayed mess.
Please dont give up on the issue, the fix hasnt helped everyone
Update : I verified my game files and that, everything seems to be in working order :) sorry for the fuss
The issue is NOT fixed at all after the update (on macOS).. why is this marked as closed without any validation?
EDIT: I have verified game files in steam and the issue is still there. The game is unplayable.
understand that the issue is "understood" now, thats why it is closed
you are the speaker?
snd_mixahead 0.07 was set when i launch the game and the sound was stuttering. snd_mixahead 0.1 seems to fix the sound stutter. Still it is not possible to switch from Stereo Headphones(HRTF) to Stereo Headphones(NON HRTF).
It seems that CSGO its FORCING to use HRTF. Give back the audio option to set HRTF OFF!
NOT fixed for me. This bug is really nasty! snd_mixahead 0.1 does help but there's an overall audio latency of about ~500ms. This has always been a problem for me in cs:go under linux and now it got worse.
For me pulseaudio show up to consume alot of resources, so i change this in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf resample-method = ffmpeg
So far is working without problem, only problem ingame mircrophone does not work.
My game sounds Good in menu and egen i shoot Walk and all that. But the bomb sound defuse sound and enemy bullet sounds is shit with hrtf. And its still pretty bad without It. And i like hrtf so please fix this Quick. Because this Will ruin My friday

STILL NOT SOLVED!!!!!!
let me give a suggestion: how about TESTING an update before delivering it?????!!!!
this is so annoying, like why cant we change stereo headphones hrtf to the NORMAL VERSION of stereo headphones
@davidw-valve please reopen the issue.
There are multiple issues that are recent regressions.
The HRTF sound issue that is worked around by setting snd_mixahead 0.1
is now being tracked at #1376. It has been acknowledged and is being looked into.
The audio selection issue is being tracked at #1370.
CS:GO not muting while minimized is being tracked at #1369.
After the update on 4/12/17, CSGO's sound was messed up. No need to go into further detail. There are no frame drops or anything graphical related, it is just the audio that was messed up after the update
