Double Click Bug on macOS Mojave #1835

Closed redmetz closed 3 years ago

redmetz commented 6 years ago

Your system information

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Hey, I wanted to play CSGO the other day on macOS Mojave and when I started the game I had to double click on every menu item to actually get there. Even in a match, when I wanted to shoot I had to double click instead to click once. Does anyone have further informations or even a fix? Because it's unplayable like that.

Greets

mikaelbo commented 6 years ago

Did you see a cursor as well? Similar thing used to happen for me on macOS High Sierra sometimes. Restarting the game or sometimes Steam would solve it for me.

aKalisch commented 6 years ago

You can CMD + Tab out and then Focus the game window again. This helped for me most of the time on macOS High Sierra.

redmetz commented 6 years ago

Yep that works for me. Thank you!

kisak-valve commented 6 years ago

Hello @redmetz, @mikaelbo, per "– Fixed a rare mouse left-click issue on OSX." in the 2018-09-03 CS:GO update, please retest this issue.

thrushcat commented 6 years ago

Same bug on fresh CS:GO install with all updates on OSX Mojave.

Bobspadger commented 5 years ago

I too am having this issue on Mojave, click and no shoot, having to double click in the menu.

BinaryWork commented 5 years ago

I am having this issue in Mac OSX Mojave as well. Fresh install of CS:GO and I have to double click to shoot as well as within the menu. When in game if I shoot I have to double click, but for a brief period after that I can shoot normally.

aKalisch commented 5 years ago

Have you guys ever tried to tab out and then tab back in. This solved the issue on High-Sierra.

BinaryWork commented 5 years ago

@aKalisch I will do this and it will work for that time being, however. Eventually, that will stop working and I will have to do another install. I just did a fresh install today and will try to get as much info as possible if I encounter the issue again.

anirudhjain75 commented 5 years ago

Cmd + Tab to focus on the game will do just fine

rolficak commented 5 years ago

The tab out + back in doesn't seem to solve the issue on Sierra for me. :(

update: it didn't work for the first time, but after doing it 2x finally it worked.

dimitrov-adrian commented 5 years ago

Change video settings to windowed, then back to fullscreen fix it for me.

ghost commented 5 years ago

Same issue here, Mojave and CS:GO. Need to double click in menu's and to fire in the game...quite a handicap...

lscarneiro commented 5 years ago

Just fresh installed the game here, this bug appeared right away...

lunatolun commented 5 years ago

you are gonna laugh guys... but there is a solution... which is quite odd

when you click "play" on steam, do NOTHING until you hear the music. don't even move the mouse. I couldn't believe so I tried 4 times, and each time it worked.

weird, but it works.

cheers

redmetz commented 5 years ago

Feels like that the bug is apples fault... The same behaviour occurs in other games as well, when I play them fullscreen. When playing games windowed everything is fine.

lenusch commented 5 years ago

i also have Problems with that ...

freegor commented 5 years ago

Same here, CSGO developers please fix the bug.

can confim

TylerADavis commented 5 years ago

I've had a few times where after tabbing out of the game while playing in fullscreen mode, CS:GO retains control of mouse clicks despite tabbing out. As a result, I see my desktop and am able to move the mouse, but clicking anything on my screen does not work.

I'm putting this here rather than in a new issue as it seems likely connected.

nmtitov commented 5 years ago

Still an issue

same

ghost commented 5 years ago

I have the same problem with Terraria, I try to place a torch with a single click but nothing happens. I have tried tab out and not doing anything when the game starts, but the issue perssits. However, I've never had this issue in CS:GO before.

immogish commented 4 years ago

i have the same issue with cs:go

fuzzy76 commented 4 years ago

Adding the startup option -fullscreenwindowed also helps, at the cost of framerate.

fuzzy76 commented 4 years ago

And the issue is still there on Catalina btw, so it's not version dependent.

Did you fix this problem? I’m on Catalina as well. Fresh installed with the double click/scrolling issue.

fuzzy76 commented 4 years ago

I "solve" it by not touching the mouse after launching until the menu fades in. If I do that, it's not triggered.

This solution works for me, but it is still strange to have problems like that in one of the most popular games ever.

This works for me too. Seems like the only solution for now. Hopefully the developers find a workaround for this soon

Workaround

This seems to work for everyone: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/csgo-osx-linux/issues/1835#issuecomment-459560540

Now unless you have any other news, please don't comment just to say "me too" here as it's sending everyone a notification every time, thank you

nmtitov commented 4 years ago

@stephanebruckert me too

Step by step:

  1. Open steam locate cs go in library.
  2. Right click cs and select properties.
  3. Select launch options.
  4. Type in the box "-windowed" and save.
  5. Run the game , then go to dock , right click cs and select "show all windows"
  6. Return to cs , fix your resolutions from video options. windowed- windowed full screen.
  7. Enjoy the game.
