Context

Please read all information and gists. I've spent a lot of time trying solutions in various other issues that have been marked as resolved etc. I've seen issues filed for the 3 scenarios listed below separately, but I am experiencing them all together and none of the solutions have worked.

The game was working. I had downloaded it a while back without really playing it. I then let it update 1-2 times and after the last update I was able to play the game for a while (1-2 rounds). I closed the game out and haven't been able to get back into it.

I am able to play original counterstrike fine.

Feel free to get technical with me. I'm a software engineer.

Your system information

about_this_mac I've confirmed under activity monitor / energy that Steam and CSGO are utilizing my dedicated graphics card - Radeon Pro 560

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Scenario A:

Expectation: I click play within the Steam UI client to launch CounterStrike Global Offensive.
What Happened: The game did not launch to an interactive UI. I saw no visible change in the UI or dock. It's as if I hadn't clicked at all.

Solutions? See "Attempted Solutions" below. All were tried for each scenario listed.

Scenario B:

Expectation:
  1. I open up a terminal within the following folder: /{USERNAME}/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Counter-Strike Global Offensive
  2. I run the command ./csgo_osx64 . (tried with sudo as well)
  3. The game starts
What Happened: The game did not launch to an interactive UI. A terminal style icon appeared in my dock labeled csgo_osx64 and briefly changed to a CSGO icon before crashing and closing completely.

    Resultant output: https://gist.github.com/randallbpotter15/58856b5b52dc3d36d8c8eda4b1a2a434

Solutions? See "Attempted Solutions" below. All were tried for each scenario listed.

    Scenario C:

  4. I open up a terminal within the following folder: /{USERNAME}/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Counter-Strike Global Offensive
  5. I run the command ./csgo.sh
  6. The game starts
What Happened: The game did not launch to an interactive UI. A terminal style icon appeared in my dock labeled csgo_osx64 and briefly changed to a CSGO icon before crashing and closing completely.
Solutions? See "Attempted Solutions" below. All were tried for each scenario listed.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Please see scenarios outlined above.

Attempted Solutions:

*Fresh means: Steam app deleted from Applications directory, all library folders deleted, crap cleaner ran on entire system, system wide search for any related files turned up empty.

Sometimes I have the same issue. This is fixed after restarting steam.
