Game never starts on mac #2528

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Run CSGO
  2. Wait about 10-30 seconds
  3. Nothing happens

I did ask for help about this about a year ago, and everything I saw to fix this was to set my display settings to 'Default for Display' instead of 'Scaled' and by adding -fullscreen to my launch options. This never worked for me. Not only did the game used to run on my mac laptop years ago, but I have friends who can run the game just fine today on their Macs.

Other source games worked fine on my laptop (before upgrading to Catalina as there is no 32bit support) including Portal 2, TF2, Gmod, CSS, and L4D2. And CSGO would still not work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
