A fix for the new visual bug. #2873

Closed ReShout876 closed 2 years ago

ReShout876 commented 2 years ago

How do I fix this?

Some kind stranger sent this link on a Discord server.

How to make it yourself?

  1. Right-click CS:GO from your library.
  2. Properties.
  3. BETAS
  4. Choose 1.38.1.1 - 1.38.1.1
  5. Let it update...
  6. Go to main Counter-Strike: Global Offensive folder.
  7. Copy the bin folder and paste it somewhere.
  8. Opt out of any BETA.
  9. Let it update again...
  10. Back to the main CS:GO folder.

Delete the bin folder (the one from the game's files, not the one who was copied by you)

  11. After deletion, paste that bin folder back in the game's files and that's it.

Hello @ReShout876, mixing builds of CS:GO is a workaround at best, and not a fix. Closing as a duplicate of #2871.

carreirorco commented 2 years ago

It worked for me.

everlyy commented 2 years ago

Works fine for me after doing this, let's hope valve releases an actual patch

isakkjerstad commented 2 years ago

This works fine. Thanks!

So, release the source code, if Valve doesn't test their bugdates. Users only can to badly workarounding.

This is a VERY stupid idea. If a cheat developer has access to the source code, lots of damage to the players can be done. There was a cheat leak which allows you to play around with the servers (lag, freeze, crash) We have just enough problems.

Valve isn't doing a lot to prevent cheaters so if the source was public no more damage will be done, (The game is full of cheaters so who cares about more cheaters lol)

The game is already ruined The anticheat is nonexistent in this game, the only "anticheat" is overwatch lol

The Anti-Cheat exists, but most of the developers already know how to bypass it and avoid detections.

* VALVe wants that the Anti-Cheat shouldn't be intrusive...

You can get way better anticheats, valve doesn't care about cheaters, from the first day CS was released cheats were released and the anticheat bypassed in no time, the only thing they keep adding is more paid content lol

So yeah, CS source should be open source so we can fix what valve doesn't fix

Cheaters are going to cheat no matter if the game is open source or not, you cannot stop that if you don't dump money in a good anticheat

You don't need source code for hacks. Cheaters with hacks are everywhere, I see people hacking in CSGO everyday even in casuals. Security by obscurity never works. If source code is public, anyone can fix company's unfixed crap. Even, if source code is public, anyone can improve the game, deal with hacks, dropped support, abandonware, improve security... Having source code, it's not about price, it's fine that a company ask money for a product, here is much years of work. If we pay and this is proprietary, and no source code, at least they could to not to break their own crap, and leave it as is, and not breaking it.

And/or do proper testing before releasing it to the public, the bug is not something that occurs in some systems, 5 pcs running arch, all the same issue, 2 macs same issue no testing was done before releasing it.

Now we have to deal with a workaround and pray that we don't get VAC banned (We can't appeal that)

you're trolling there's a million PUBLIC methods for disabling VAC (no heartbeat btw) and the source is useless unless you're exploit hunting (time consuming & pointless)

Main issue is that the "anticheat" (overwatch) is not a anticheat that bans a spinbot/aimbot in the match, you have to lose against a cheater and then pray overwatch works and the guy gets banned.

A real anticheat should detect that in the match and ban them

There are better anticheats for Minecraft (yes, minecraft) than this VAC anticheat lmao

ReShout876 commented 2 years ago

I see a thread about cheats and ACs... The developers always try to reverse engineer games in order to make mods or make cheats... Thats it.

btw player info isn't scrubbed from overwatch demos, you can just grab the info and watch the accounts. prime cheaters don't get banned (outside of vac, which is easily avoided) even when spinning

Yeah, it is clearly that they don't test their own bugdates. Even, I will say, that they don't play the game. Here is so much cheat (no hacks) in game, that is still not fixes. Things like wallbang in Assault, + you can see where are some players and shoot at the wall, because you can see their weapons through walls. And that damn smoke, some times here is a bug that allows you to see through smoke. And all that cheat stuff is game built-in, just bugs that stay for years, and not fixed even today. Valve and their devs clearly don't play the game.

Yeah you can get the original demo when cs is downloading it by using wireshark lol

prime cheaters don't get banned (outside of vac, which is easily avoided) even when spinning

For that reason a real AC should be in a competitive game
