Since the last day or so, I'm having this issue as well. A black fullscreen appears (Good), but then crashes either immediately before the CSGO logo or just before any other content would be shown.

.Hello @brandonpelfrey, that's consistent with the issue being tracked at #3172.
Thanks @kisak-valve . I can confirm that from looking at #3172 , the suggestion to disable the overlay reliably resolves the issue for me. If the overlay is off, I can consistently launch the game, if it is on, the game always crashes in the manner I provided above.
I have this issue too, except none of the suggested solutions work, including disabling overlay. I have had this issue a lot longer than both of these issues have been on here though. However, before yesterday, I could launch the game with ~5 failures before it worked. Now, however, it fails every single time.
One workaround is to rename or delete the videos folder
Same. But with -vulkan game starts.

It worked only once, when I close the csgo and open it again it crashes

-novid
in launch options?
When the game starts to load and you come to a black screen try clicking the mouse all over the screen until the game loads. Seems to work for me. If I don't click with the mouse it just crashes to desktop.

When I start CS:GO, the game starts and changes to video mode, where you expect the CS:GO logo, but it then crashes and falls back to desktop.
