Model Render Interpolation bug #3204

Closed michaelxnn closed 1 year ago

Your system information

I have observed some sort of rendering interpolation issue where the model of a teammate or enemy would very briefly disappear for a split second and reappear. It also seems to happen in official matchmaking. I'm not quite sure how to reproduce this issue for its sometimes unnoticeable and other times mildly annoying. Not to mention its quite rare. The only footage of this bug i do have is on an community deathmatch server. I do assure though it happens on official matchmaking as well.

Launch options: -glmdisableclipplanes -nouserclip -NoQueuedPacketThread -gl_enablesamplerobjects -noqueuedload -nothreadedsockets -freq 75 -novid -vulkan -wavonly +exec autoexec

Below is a youtube video of what i have experienced. Its really hard to notice so i would advice slowing down the video. Im also not sure if this has already been reported

https://youtu.be/pAxQzKdybYQ

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Start CSGO
  2. Play

my initial thoughts are that maybe the launch options are somehow the cause. Currently testing without any launch options.

For now it seems like the -glmdisableclipplanes -nouserclip have been causing this issues or at least one of them.

just recently i had witnessed a weird gliding enemy. Which i just thought to be some sort of network related issue or something else (without -glmdisableclipplanes -nouserclip). This all makes me think that there is either indeed a issue with model appearance and or its just a really weird coincidence. https://youtu.be/5j1mnfZanYY mpv-shot0001

The second "bug" looks like its just a cheater.

Thought so too. I also have been noticing more bizarre rendering issues, that are really almost impossible to spot. I hope github wont compress my images too much. Screenshot_2023-07-05_05-05-35 noclue secondpng

For some odd reason at very specific positions you can see through the mesh and into the skybox. Now at first it was almost unnoticeable. But now i cant unsee it.

Also sorry for the large chunk of pixels i had to make sure im not going insane and its not like a dead pixel or something

started half life 2 to see if it was a cs specific issue or vulkan or something else. I dont think i have noticed this effect in half life 2. But that could be due to me being exhausted.

michaelxnn commented 1 year ago

started csgo with opengl and the issue is still persistent. Maybe has something to do with my Graphics Card?? I am still not sure if its a "me" issue or if its a "issue" at all

michaelxnn commented 1 year ago

just noticed i had "setting.nouserclipplanes" "1" in my video config file. but even after removing it the issue still persisted. ksnip_20230706-222139

yeah im just stupid. noticed this ""bug"" also in Apex legends. first i thought it was maybe the dxvk layer or something else until i realiized its just light reflections. Sorry for the nonsense i spouted here. I Apologize
