CS2 Broken brightness slider using Vulkan launched from steam #3344

Open kristiker opened 1 year ago

kristiker commented 1 year ago

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. AMD GPU, 23.9.1, -vulkan, Windows
  2. Launch from steam, brightness slider doesn't work.
  3. Launch executable, brightness slider works.

After 28 September update, screen also capped to 60hz. sys_info reports 144hz. Update: 29 September update fixed 60hz lock.

same issue occurs in the linux build in both xorg and wayland on fedora linux, with and without -vulkan cmd arg (although im not sure it does anything on linux)

had this issue since launch

another thing im noticing that might be related, the command r_fullscreen_gamma has zero effect, so the game may not actually be running in exclusive fullscreen

Is there a difference on linux between launching the executable and pressing play on steam?

jali-peno commented 12 months ago

launching the executable directly (both the actual binary and the shell script steam uses to start the game) wont work.

launching the executable file directly results in a missing file error, something to do with panorama, and launching the script gives an error that the game can only be run through steam
