I dont need to do anything and my FPS start to drop. Also from 200-300 to 10 - 15. Makes it unplayable. I am forced to restart CS GO.
This only happens in MM.
I've experienced this in all modes, deathmatch, casual and competitive. But never seems to be caused by any specific action, like buying a pistol. Most of the time it can happening when jumping in mid air. Today it happened 4 times in a single match.
The only way i know how to get back into play ( hoping i don't get killed ), is to enable/disable vsync.
I usually get it when a new round starts. Pretty annoying to have to leave your team in a 4v5 at least once a game.
OS - Ubuntu 14.04 CPU - Intel i5 4690 GPU - nVidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti Motherboard - MSi Z87-GD65 Gaming RAM - Corsair Vengeance 1x8GB 1600MHz
By the way, I still actually get this issue, but it is WAY too random and unreproduceable to bother Valve.
@aaronfranke are you still using the same gpu? I upgraded from a gtx650ti to a gtx1060 last year, and haven't had this problem since. Not sure if that's because the 1060 is more powerful, or whether there's some driver related bug happening outside of the game itself.
Same GPU, but i5-6600k, Xubuntu 18.04 instead of 15.04, and a much newer CS:GO obviously.
This has a low chance of happening, but it happens in half of my competitive games, and I am forced to restart the game or change video settings to fix it. It also happens in non-competitive games (casual, dm, etc) too. I can't find any specific behaviour that reproduces this, but it always happens when I buy or receive a pistol.
Xubuntu 15.04, GTX 770, i5-4690k, Corsair SSD, Corsair RM750, using "nvidia-346" driver from the repository.
