CS2 changes resolution by changing desktop resolution #3474

There are ways of doing this without messing with desktop resolution. Not even older games like Team Fortress 2 do this.

i have the same problem with nvidia 3060 rtx on archlinux, also after screen resolution change might be boxes with artifacts and mouse sensivity defects, desktop resolution also changed. sometimes my screen has turned off.

Might possibly be a good idea to provide system information, the instructions are in the template message you edited to create this issue.

Anyway I can confirm this behavior which also seems pretty inconsistent, sometimes my desktop resolution has been changed while playing CS2 and sometimes it has not.

Running Ubuntu 22.04, gnome desktop on X11.

As a workaround, use gamescope

Also, I am pretty sure this is not possible to do with stretched resolutions. So for a rot of people, this is the desired solution.
