I tried it in casual now, in both freezetime and shortly after the round starts, and the game got stuck. I can hear players moving and shooting in the background, text/voice chat works as it should, but the action on screen does not update.
It seems this is not limited to the "starting match" screen, but it is the most reproducible there.
I haven't tried to reproduce it again but this happened to me as well after using the record command in the middle of a deathmatch game.
Still happening. This is from an Arms Race match, I joined a match and immediately tried to record a demo to troubleshoot performance issues (go figure). I give this piece of shit game a chance every few weeks, just to be met with the same old bugs. What a sad state of affairs. I miss CS:GO.

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
In CS:GO, which we all loved and enjoyed very much (especially the triple digit FPS), I used to record every match I played into a demo file (including my own voice with
voice_loopback
, but since you haven't addedvoice_player_volume
back, I cannot mute myself anymore ://).When running the
record
command in CS2 on the "First half, Starting as [Team]" screen, with player models posing at the camera, the game gets stuck, not allowing the player to buy or move. Interestingly, you can see the bullet tracers from the real action. This can be reliably reproduced in an offline match with bots. Here's a video showing the issue:
Steps for reproducing this issue:
record mystruggle
.disconnect
through console.
