XBox360 controller support in Linux is broken #6

Ubuntu 14.04 XBox 360 Controller 'joystick' set to '1'.

Controller isn't recognized at all. Can't navigate menus, and the analog sticks dont do anything and the buttons do not work. In the menu, none of the actions have a binding associated with them and I can't rebind them.

Is the controller supposed to work? Because otherwise the game seems to work fine.

Controller hasn't been working for a while (about a year now) in Windows either.

Debian 8, XBOX 360 controller.

I can confirm this on SteamOS, using a wireless Xbox 360 Controller.

The buttons and triggers seem to work, however the analog sticks won't do anything at all. I tried exec controller.360.cfg in the console without any luck...
