how do you disable steam overlay?
In steam, right click on the game, select properties. There is a checkbox marked 'Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game' that toggles the overlay on a per-game basis.
Whenever steam overlay is enabled, it crashes whenever I join an MM game or a community server.
You can check the status of the steam overlay in Activity Monitor on mac. Whenever it crashes in Activity Monitor it always causes stuttering and lag in-game. The only solution I've found so far is disable steam overlay.
If you have been having issues regarding FPS then turn off Steam Overlay and you'll see a huge difference.
Steam overlay is gameoverlayui (in red)
