(Nvidia) Severe graphical artefacts in some vulkan games #541

After upgrading gamescope to 3.11.32 on Garuda, I have noticed severe graphical glitches in some games.

All confirmed titles so far use vulkan/dxvk. Tested titles include:

XIVLauncher.Core is actually a launcher for Final Fantasy XIV and seems to use OpenGL according to Mangohud. Final Fantasy XIV itself runs using DXVK without visual artefacts, but exhibits degraded performance that continues to get worse throughout the session.

For reference: CPU: Intel i7-10750H (12) GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti (515.57 Driver)

I have confirmed that this also occurs on my Intel iGPU with Mesa 22.1.2 Drivers, so this does not seem to be Nvidia specific. It occurs regardless of use flags. I have also tested using the gamescope-git AUR package, and had the same issue. These issues were not present in 3.11.31.

This seems to be a duplicate of #356

i had this too (INTEL/NV), in this version i noticed lots of bugs (half frame rate in some games like RE remake) and in general not a nice visual performance.went back to 3.11.31 Beta 5 and its fine

Seems like you are using an Optimus laptop. Could you test with this suggestion on command line?

Can confirm, this suggestion resolved the issue. I had gotten out of the habit of using prime-run since switching to Wayland, but I suppose I will need to start adding it to my gamescope instances.
