[cs 1.6/BUG] Letterboxing feature no more working #1192

Open Freeman-AM opened 11 years ago

Freeman-AM commented 11 years ago

Added letterboxing of the game based upon your resolution option so the game maintains the correct aspect ratio based upon your resolution choice. If you choose a "Normal" (4:3) and play on a widescreen (16:9 or 16:10) monitor then we will now place black bars at the edge of the screen to keep the right aspect ratio. The same is true for widescreen options on 4:3 monitors. Put "-stretchaspect" in the games launch options in Steam if you wish to disable this behavior.

This feature don't work anymore on my cs 1.6, it used to work. Protocol version 48 Exe version 1.1.2.7/Stdio (cstrike) Exe build: 17:47:17 Apr 25 2013 (6027)

It's working for me. But when I use HLAE it stretches no matter what. But that's probably something the hlae devs will have to fix.

alfred-valve commented 11 years ago

If you run with "-nofbo" or potentially "-nomsaa" or have a video card that doesn't support FBO's (a really, really old one) then this will be the case.

MaximilianKohler commented 11 years ago

It looks like his video card was released in late 2009 or 2010 (http://www.anandtech.com/show/2906) so it's not that old.

Someone else told me as well that on the HL developer wiki it says that -nofbo implies -stretchaspect, but I'm pretty sure that's an error. I have tested it and it does not stretch the aspect ratio; only -stretchaspect does. In fact, before you guys released the -stretchaspect command -nofbo was what we were using to create letterboxing rather than to eliminate it.

Ok, i get it, it wasn't working because of low quality setting in video.
