Latest updates completely removed from the game 3D sound and now it does not quite enough: ( Aureal A3D 2.0 (Including WaveTracing) and Creative EAX provides not surpassed by the quality of sound in Half-Life and Counter-Strike: He heard the sound of footsteps as reflected from the walls, falling sleeves .. The dynamic echo resounded through the corridors with the shooting, but the shot AWP could hide from the fear of a chair: D Now all of this miracle - no.

Especially magical sound grew with A3D 2.0 + WaveTracing and all this is achieved only through some headphones (After all, a man only two ears =))) I especially want to highlight WaveTracing, which creates the acoustic effects of real-time based on the geometry of the buildings and properties per map. Geometry reads when loading a game the next card of the video, making the sound interactive, dynamic. All reflection occlusion swallowing sound and reverberation, atmospheric effects are calculated in real time! It is immersed in the game at 200% - it's worth it!

The only quality alternative to today it is implemented correctly EAX 5. Since I had to remove A3D 2.0, WaveTracing and EAX, so can be implemented instead EAX 5 via OpenAL?

A better add HAlf-Life something like the good old WaveTracing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buU8gPG2cHI

Especially as modern multicore computers is easy to make, not to the detriment of FPS, which was lacking in the good times Aureal ;)

I kind of like the idea. As long as room_type stuff will get disabled once this will be there. And options would be:

  1. Default Engine Sound.
  2. EAX. (engine room_type disabled).
  3. Default + EAX. (engine room_type disabled).

The third one may be useful if people want HD sound, but also want to hear through walls like always.
