Well I suppose it could work either way. I was simply trying to say that under Wine (meaning I'm playing the Windows version of HL on Linux) I didn't get the bug. So it seems to be Linux only as far as I can tell.
Whenever a player uses voice chat during a mulitplayer game, it will lag the client receiving the other user's input. My friends and I have encountered this on Fedora 20. I do not know if this affects other GoldSrc based games, but I have played Half-Life multiplayer under Wine and was unable to produce the same results under the native Linux build.
