crosshair improvement (cs 1.6) #265

Open MaximilianKohler opened 11 years ago

MaximilianKohler commented 11 years ago

It would be nice to have an option to add an outline or change the thickness of the crosshair because on higher resolutions the crosshair becomes really thin and a lot harder to see.

Please include your system information as requested at https://github.com/ValveSoftware/halflife#reporting-issues and which title this is referring to.

MaximilianKohler commented 11 years ago

@MrSchism Are you with valve/Alfred? I added the title and system specs but this issue has nothing to do with system specs...

MrSchism commented 11 years ago

@MaximilianKohler I'm a community moderator. I asked because in the information, it says what resolution is being used which has a very notable effect on the appearance of the crosshair. Moreover, it helps to have the title of the game (which I also requested).

I often use the above message as a way to bring notice to the readme that people aren't reading. The readme is there for a reason. What is requested in the readme is there for a reason.

+1 for Half-Life

Default crosshair (1920x1200): t0a0d0000

Custom crosshair (1920x1200): t0a0d0001

srdjan2311 commented 11 years ago

Fixing the crosshair for higher resolutions is absolutely crucial. On resolutions like 1920 x 1080 crosshair is barely visible in cs 1.6 . You should have prioritised this before msaa, ansio and changing the default texture mode to gl_linear_mipmap_linear...

r3n4m3 commented 11 years ago

I missed somewhere info about ansio, tell me what it does exactly?

MaximilianKohler commented 11 years ago

@r3n4m3 anisotropic filtering makes the ground look like it has more detail.

if we use -nofbo it is activate -nomsaa too, is that mean so via using -nofbo that cvar are ignoring?

z0id commented 10 years ago

Could this be bumped on the TO DO list? :) Since GoldSrc doesn't seem to fully implement latest xrandr like Source, the game cannot be changed from the native resolution on nvidia binary driver. So the crosshair is almost impossible to see on high resolution. Makes the game quite unplayable. An option to change the thickness would be really useful.

bump.

This project is dead. Bumping threads here is useless. Complain about not getting any updates/fixes on other public forums like reddit and steam.
