[CS 1.6] "viewdemo not available."

The command has always worked, I used it last week but after the last beta update it says "viewdemo not available." when I try to use the command.

Have you tried with "playdemo"?

Yes, "playdemo" works for me.

Any reason to use viewdemo instead of playdemo?

When you use the command "viewdemo" you have a panel where you can do fast forward, slow motion, pause, stop and also repositioning the demo. "playdemo" doesn't have this.

Your version (from Feb 13) is outdated. The latest one is from Feb 18. You have to opt beta in both Half-Life and Counter-Strike 1.6. If you don't have Half-Life, you'll have to wait for update of stable version.

I second this,i have the beta thingy too but viewdemo doesn't work.

viewdemo works with personal demos recorded by the user. It does not work with demos such as HLTV demos. The new "update" caused this problem of course.

The ability record every player with one demo. Valve gets lower and lower every day I'm afraid. Do any of their original employees work there besides newell?
