Cs 1.6 running way too fast after installing on Windows XP. #750

So i also play the game on Linux and it runs fine, but today i installed it on Windows as well and the game feels faster for some reason .. running is faster, shooting is faster you name it.

When i join a server,i run and the player stops (it almost feels like i get stuck somewhere and every time this happens i hear multiple footsteps) for like 1 sec and then moves again and it happens all the time.I checked fps and ping and everything seems fine. This weird behavior kinda reminds of me speedhackers i've seen on public servers.

Now some may say "why play it on windows then" .. well some communities require you to use the EasyAntiCHeat client which isn't available on Linux yet.

Install: http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/dynamicDetails.aspx?ListID=c5cd2c08-1432-4756-aafa-4d9dc646342f&ItemID=153

This will solve the issue.

MrSchism commented 11 years ago

@Somecsdude If that works, let us know.

Somecsdude commented 11 years ago

Before i download that i tried to set hl.exe to use only 1 core and it solved the problem. Thanks for the help AnAkIn1.

MrSchism commented 11 years ago

Closing as a solution as been found. Happy fragging :space_invader:

Sigh, I hate those AMD cores with the unsync'd RDTSC's.

 This. I like AMD, don't get me wrong... but that's a major issue that they've had for a while now.
