Open men1kmati opened 11 years ago

men1kmati commented 11 years ago

[cs1.6]there is a bug that happens while playing deathmatch. if you die while you are spraying, your gun will start shooting by itself upon respawning. to stop it you just have to left click again.

nmirthes commented 11 years ago

I can confirm this while playing HL:BS and HL:OF.

acetamino commented 11 years ago

This happens in DoD 1.3 as well

ghost commented 11 years ago

I found a way to reproduce it. Hold +attack button before map change. https://github.com/ValveSoftware/halflife/issues/671 explains this bug

zahat commented 11 years ago

But it also happens during a normal play, where sometimes you spawn with the gun already shooting.

jrewolinski commented 11 years ago

I have this issue as well in DoD. Occasionally I will spawn with my gun shooting. I've noticed it more on the BAR and STG, but I play those most often. I'm running Linux Mint 13 64-bit with an AMD 5850 and AMD's 13.3 beta 3 drivers.

ghost commented 11 years ago

I have this issue in Blue Shift only.

nmirthes commented 11 years ago

I'm only seeing this with Blue Shift at this point as well.

ghost commented 11 years ago

This appears to be fixed on Blue Shift with today's update.

nmirthes commented 11 years ago

I've just tested for this and it's still a problem for me. I saw updates for Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike:Condition Zero, and Blue Shift, however the update notification for Blue Shift showed 0 bytes.

ghost commented 11 years ago

Do an integrity check on Blue Shift. On May 16, 2013 5:28 PM, "nmirthes" notifications@github.com wrote:

Did that before commenting here. What size was the update for you?

ghost commented 11 years ago

Second one was 4 mb On May 16, 2013 5:59 PM, "nmirthes" notifications@github.com wrote:

AJenbo commented 11 years ago

This is still reproducible in HL:BS. Die in single player, click mouse to start auto loading last save game = gun fires like crazy.

aduzsardi commented 11 years ago

it happens on cstrike also

M3KA125 commented 10 years ago

confirmed happens in CS 1.6

fysiks1 commented 10 years ago

Has anyone at Valve been able to debug this? I did some work today to see if I could find a workaround and found out something interesting (I think) that I haven't seen posted yet.

I was able to prevent the firing to occur at respawn with an AMX Mod X plugin (tested in DOD) but it still requires you to hit a mouse button before normal operation will resume. I've tested it with all 5 of my mouse buttons and it seems that any of them regardless of what they are bound to (including unbound) will stop the firing (when not using my plugin) or get back to normal operation when using my plugin.

CS-PRO1 commented 4 years ago

This happens in ALL Goldsrc games. CZ:DS is a big example where your weapon will go on full spray upon loading a saved game.

agrastiOs commented 4 years ago

Yeah, a pretty annoying issue.

agrastiOs commented 4 years ago

@mikela-valve, could you look into this? An old and annoying bug.

SamVanheer commented 4 years ago

Provide steps to reproduce so this can be debugged properly. I tried to reproduce it and it never happened, so more information would be good.

jrewolinski commented 4 years ago

This happens consistently on DoD, Windows & Linux. Die while firing your gun, and you'll re-spawn with a firing gun. Of course I mostly play on servers that have the re-spawn timer adjusted to instant-spawn. Easier to reproduce with the rapid-fire guns.

Koterminus commented 4 years ago

This also happens on Ricochet - if you die while firing disks (holding down MOUSE1), you will continue to fire disks when you respawn as if MOUSE1 is still being held even when it is not.

RauliTop commented 4 years ago

@mikela-valve you should check this

Maxi605 commented 4 years ago

If you shoot and minimize the game, open the console or open a motd you'll keep firing, maybe it's related to this issue with shooting when spawned, happen to me with the motd multiple times.

metita commented 4 years ago

@Maxi605 There is no need to minimize the game.

You just need to:

1) Start firing a weapon -> open the console while pressing +attack -> close the console and stop using +attack bind, your weapon should be keep firing non-stop.

I know, opening console, motd or minimizing does it aswell

CS-PRO1 commented 4 years ago

in CZ:DS you quick save with F6 and then quick load with F7 .. There's a big chance of having your weapon on full spray (only if full auto weapon like m4/ak etc..)

Koterminus commented 4 years ago

@jrewolinski, does this bug still occur in DoD on servers that don't have instant respawn?

By the way, @kisak-valve please add labels for Ricochet and Condition Zero: Deleted Scenes as this bug occurs in both those games too, both on the current public versions and the latest beta versions.

fysiks1 commented 4 years ago

Disappointing that this didn't make it into the update on October 8. Any progress on it? (also sad that this update created some more bugs)

LeafarDev commented 4 years ago

Same issue in blueshift, hl1 and opposing force works normally
